Excavator Operator — Water & Sewer

GOA Paving is looking for a skilled and dependable Excavator Operator to join our construction team. Experience with watermain, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, or civil construction is preferred.

Responsibilities

- Operate excavators of various sizes on water and sewer projects.
- Excavate trenches for watermain, sanitary and storm sewer.
- Safely dig around existing underground utilities.
- Assist pipe crews with trenching, bedding, backfilling, and installation.
- Maintain proper depth, slope, line, and grade.
- Load and move materials as required.
- Complete daily equipment inspections and report issues.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Follow all health & safety requirements.
- Communicate with the foreperson and crew.

Requirements

- Previous excavator experience in civil construction.
- Water/sewer or underground utility experience is an asset.
- Strong understanding of excavation and trenching.




- Safety-conscious and able to work around utilities and active sites.
- Valuable communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Reliable transportation to job sites.
- Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Willing to travel for work.
