Avala Equities is seeking a reliable and hands-on Property Maintenance Technician to join our in-house property management team. This role will support the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of our residential and commercial properties, helping ensure our buildings are safe, functional, and well maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete general repairs and preventative maintenance across our properties
- Perform minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, and hardware repairs
- Troubleshoot maintenance issues and determine when specialized contractors are required
- Complete suite repairs, turnovers, and preparation for new tenants
- Respond to tenant maintenance requests in a skilled and timely manner
- Inspect building systems and common areas and identify required repairs
- Coordinate and oversee contractors when necessary
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials, and outstanding items
- Assist with emergency and after-hours maintenance when required
- Help maintain a high standard of cleanliness, safety, and overall property appearance
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience in building maintenance, construction, property management, or a related field
- Strong general repair and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple properties and service requests
- Reliable, organized, and comfortable communicating with tenants and contractors
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation
- Own basic tools considered an asset
