Precision Lung Consultants & Diagnostics (PLCD) is a physician-led pulmonary function testing lab in Calgary. We are currently seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team beginning in approximately October / November 2026.

This position will begin on a casual basis at approximately two shifts per week. Beginning in January 2027, the successful candidate is expected to transition into a temporary 0.75 FTE position, continuing through approximately January 2028.

This is a great opportunity for an RRT who is looking for a gradual transition into a larger role, additional weekday hours, or a change from acute care.

Schedule

The position will begin with approximately two weekday shifts per week in October or November and December 2026.

Beginning in January 2027, the position is expected to increase to approximately 0.75 FTE and remain at that level through January 2028.

There are no evenings or weekends.

Responsibilities

- Perform pulmonary function testing, including spirometry, lung volumes and DLCO
- Perform bronchodilator testing when indicated




- Ensure testing is completed according to applicable ATS/ERS standards and internal quality requirements
- Provide clear instruction and coaching to patients throughout testing
- Accurately document and manage patient testing data
- Complete equipment calibration and quality assurance procedures
- Follow clinic policies, procedures and safety protocols
- Work collaboratively with the respiratory therapy, administrative and physician teams

Qualifications

- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Current registration/licensure with CARTA
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Strong communication and patient-care skills
- Reliable, professional and detail-oriented
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a small team

Previous pulmonary function testing experience is considered an asset but is not required. Comprehensive training will be provided. Candidates with previous PFT experience may have an accelerated onboarding period.

Important Position Details

This is not a permanent full-time position.

The successful candidate will initially be hired on a casual basis for approximately two shifts per week beginning in October or November 2026, with the anticipated transition to a temporary 0.75 FTE position from January 2027 through January 2028.

Applicants should be available for weekday daytime shifts and comfortable with the planned increase in hours beginning January 2027.
