Our client is looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a busy finance team in the oil and gas sector in Calgary, Alberta, on a long-term contract basis. This role is ideal for someone experienced in high-volume invoice processing, coding, and allocations who can work closely with operations and accounting teams to resolve discrepancies and keep payments moving accurately and on time.

Responsibilities:
Review and organize incoming invoices, ensuring documentation is complete and accurate.
Code invoices, cost centres, and voucher details, including complex contract operator charges.
Upload invoice data and coordinate approvals through to Qbyte.
Work with operations teams to confirm coding and resolve missing or unclear information.
Investigate invoice exceptions, failed submissions, and processing errors.
Ensure approved invoice activity is processed within required deadlines.
Complete routine accounting entries and assist with vendor account reviews.
Support invoice scanning, special projects, and process improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and maintain data accuracy.

Requirements:
Experience in accounts payable, including invoice processing, coding, allocations, and vendor support.
Proficiency with Qbyte and OpenInvoice.
Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookups.
Strong problem-solving skills with experience resolving invoice discrepancies and errors.
Experience with cost centres, contract operator invoices, reconciliations, and accounting entries.




Robust communication skills with the ability to work across finance, operations, and data management teams.
Collaborative and adaptable approach with the ability to learn new processes and systems.
