Summary:

Western Concrete is seeking experienced customer service-oriented Batcher and Dispatch support with preferred ready-mix concrete experience. This is an chance based in our Chilliwack office – remote and hybrid not available.

What the role will be doing:

- Working directly with the Dispatch Supervisor and Operations Controller to organize and arrange the batch process, support batch preparation and load concrete mixers
- Collaborate and work directly with the Operations Controller and Dispatch Supervisor to provide guidance, support and communication to the team on the road.
- Act as a communication liaison through the two-way truck radio system and answer incoming phone calls from drivers on the road and customers placing orders
- Cultivate strong relationships with drivers and customers to support the team and reduce the stress that comes with last-minute scheduling changes




- Monitor any sudden route changes or construction issues and work with drivers to establish new routes for timely deliveries
- Planning and scheduling trucks and drivers
- Communication with customers to facilitate and confirm planned jobs
- Ensure that maintenance is pre-planned and integrated with dispatch schedules
- Practice safe work procedures at all times
- Other duties as assigned.

The Batcher and Dispatcher requires a candidate with:

- Batcher experience in ready-mix concrete work environment
- Dispatch for ready-mix concrete preferred but not necessary
- High school Diploma
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Superior customer service and communication skills
- Proficient working with a computer and multi-tasking
- Strong background in scheduling, costing, and planning.
- Knowledge and familiarity of Chilliwack and the surrounding area
- Skilled in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) with the desire and capability to master industry-specific software.
- Data Entry: ability to accurately and efficiently enter in numeric data
- Strong personal commitment to safety and the well-being of coworkers
