Garage Door Technician - Service and Installation

Viking Doors Inc. provides a variety of services from repairs to installation of garage doors, docks, gates and more. Services range from planned maintenance, inspections and diagnostic services as well as repairs, retrofits and new installations for residential, commercial and industrial customers.

Responsibilities & Duties:

- Promote a positive customer experience with a strong focus of quality service and quality product
- Provide sales recommendations that enhance safety, reliability, and longevity to our customer
- Adjust sensors, force settings, and hardware for proper operation
- Replace worn or damaged parts using hand and power tools
- Install hardware, weatherstripping, and door components
- Perform safety inspections and testing
- Process payments when required
- Complete documentation through field management software
- Maintain a clean, organized work vehicle
- Perform additional duties as required

Installing garage doors (Residential, Commercial, Industrial)

- Installing dock levelers (Hydraulic, Air-Powered, Mechanical) - Experience not required but an asset
- Troubleshooting skills
- Maintenance and repair work (Dock & Doors), equipment installation and operation monitoring to ensure that mechanical doors are installed and functioning properly
- Complete all required documentation, work orders and any required information needed for team members to order required repair parts.
- Other duties as required
- We require any candidates to hold their own hand/power tools for the job. All speciality tools will be provided

Qualifications & Experience:

- Clean Driver’s record
- Bondable.



Criminal record check to be provided prior to hire
- Ability to arrive to work on time and ready to perform your duties
- Ability to lift at least 75 pounds
- Basic electrical troubleshooting
- Minimum 1 years Overhead Door experience
- Minimum 1 years Dock Levelers experience - preferred, but not required
- Willing to train the right candidate

Ticketed in the following (willing to provide to the right candidate):

- First Aid w/ CPR
- Scissor Lift Training
- Fall Protection

Work Conditions:

- Field work
- Working at Heights, ladders, elevated platform lifts
- Cold weather conditions, hot weather conditions
- Confined space
- Overtime and shared on call schedule will be part of the position
- Good communication skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to work independently or in a group setting
