Position Overview: The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting functions and supporting the financial reporting requirements of the organization. This role plays a key part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information, maintaining robust internal controls, and supporting management with financial analysis and reporting. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented accounting professional with strong technical accounting skills, experience managing the full accounting cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the management and oversight of the full-cycle accounting process, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger maintenance, and month-end close.
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Complete account reconciliations and investigate variances to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning activities.
- Prepare and file statutory remittances and other regulatory reporting requirements.
- Support the year-end audit process and liaise with external auditors
- Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting procedures, and financial reporting processes.
- Support management with ad hoc financial analysis, reporting, and special projects.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Full cycle accounting
- Proven experience in financial planning, analysis, and budgeting.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
