About the Position

LearnStar Educational Programs Inc. is seeking a dependable, enthusiastic and caring Homework Helper to join our after-school team at Stephenville Primary.

The Homework Helper will support students with their homework and educational activities while helping create a safe, welcoming and positive environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and contributing to their academic and personal development.

Responsibilities

- Assist students with homework and other educational activities.
- Help gather and organize students at designated homework tables.
- Follow direction from the Site Supervisor and Assistant Supervisor.
- Help maintain a safe, inclusive and positive environment.
- Serve as a skilled and positive role model for students.
- Communicate respectfully with students, families,



school staff and LearnStar team members.
- Assist with daily program setup, organization and cleanup.
- Follow all LearnStar policies, procedures and safety requirements.

Qualifications

- English communication skills and the ability to assist students with homework
- Experience working with children or in an educational setting is considered an asset.
- Reliable, responsible and able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Patient, encouraging and committed to supporting children’s learning and development.
- Available Monday to Friday
- Current First Aid and CPR Record of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check are required.

Pay: From $17.50 per hour

Licence/Certification:

- First Aid Certification (required)
- Criminal Record Check Vulnerable Sector Check (required)
