Kyle Demelo Construction is a civil excavating company based in the Okanagan. We are looking for experienced Pipelayers and Skilled Labourers to join our team in the Central Okanagan (Kelowna and surrounding areas). This role is ideal for an individual with extensive experience in civil construction who takes pride in producing quality work while maintaining a strong commitment to safety.

Primary Duties

- Install underground utility systems in accordance with project plans and specifications.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, grade information, and construction details.
- Ensure all pipe installation activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and to required quality standards.
- Prepare trench excavations and bedding materials to meet design elevations and specifications.
- Check and confirm line and grade throughout the installation process.
- Safely expose and work around existing underground services, including gas, electrical, telecommunications, water, and sewer utilities.
- Install manholes, catch basins, service connections, and related underground components.
- Complete pipe joining, sealing, compaction, backfilling, and related construction activities.
- Work closely with field crews and equipment operators to achieve project milestones and maintain schedules.
- Conduct regular hazard assessments and follow all site safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum five years of experience in civil pipelaying and underground utility construction.




- Strong knowledge of municipal infrastructure installation practices, including watermain, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and drainage systems.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, and grade information.
- Experience with grade verification, trench preparation, bedding installation, compaction, and backfilling procedures.
- Valid driver's licence with dependable transportation.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and protected work practices.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
- Flexibility to work overtime or extended hours when project demands require.
