Once Upon a Child buys and sell gently used kids' stuff in Chilliwack! We are seeking an energetic and customer-focused Daytime Sales Associate to join our team! In this role, you will be the friendly face that welcomes customers, sorts and buys quality gently used kids' stuff, and drives sales through exceptional service. Your enthusiasm for resale, thrifting, kids and retail will help create a lively shopping workplace where customers feel valued.

Responsibilities

- Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating products or services that meet their needs.
- Complete the buying process of gently used kids' items that people bring to sell to us




- Handle sales transactions accurately using POS (Point of Sale) systems, including cash handling and receipt issuance.
- Maintain organized merchandising displays that attract attention and promote featured items.
- Offer exceptional customer service by addressing questions, resolving concerns, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
- Manage time effectively to serve multiple customers efficiently during busy daytime hours.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, phone etiquette, and organizational abilities in all interactions.
- Must love organizing, colorizing and repetitive tasks (hanging + tagging merchandise)

Qualifications

- Robust communication skills in English to ensure you can explain the buying process effectively to our selling customers
- Familiarity with POS systems, cashiering, cash handling, and merchandising best practices.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly attitude and professional phone etiquette.
- Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Organizational skills to manage inventory displays and ensure the sales floor remains inviting and well-stocked.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, up to 8 hours a day.

Lifting up to 40 lbs. without assistance. May involve heavier lifting with assistance of team member or cart/dolly.

Bending, rotating, and reaching customary to a retail environment; including receiving, pricing, and stocking/back stocking merchandise.
