Duties
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to deliver freight and packages to designated locations, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment, ensuring proper handling and secure placement of cargo
- Conduct routine inspections of vehicles and equipment, performing basic automotive repairs or notifying maintenance teams of issues
- Verify delivery accuracy by inspecting freight documentation and obtaining customer signatures upon receipt
- Maintain detailed logs of deliveries, vehicle maintenance, and safety checks to ensure compliance with company policies
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers,
and team members to coordinate routes and resolve any delivery issues promptly
- Assist with warehouse operations when not on the road, including freight sorting and inventory management
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid driver’s license suitable for operating heavy vehicles
- Familiarity with forklift operation and freight handling procedures
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation and basic automotive repair skills is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to transportation and heavy machinery use
- Ability to navigate using GPS or mapping systems efficiently in various environments
- Prior experience in logistics or delivery services is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided for specific equipment or procedures
