Red River Animal Hospital is a small animal practice located in Winnipeg seeking a friendly, organized Veterinary Receptionist to join our team.

This position requires consistent availability to work both Saturday and Sunday.

The ideal candidate has customer service and reception experience (required), strong communication skills, and a compassionate approach toward animals and their owners.

This role involves providing excellent front-desk service, managing appointments, and supporting the daily operations of a busy veterinary clinic. Experience in a rapid-paced environment and familiarity with veterinary settings are strong assets.

Responsibilities

- Greet clients warmly and professionally upon arrival and departure
- Assist with patient check-in and check-out procedures
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries about services and appointments
- Coordinate communication between clients and veterinary staff
- Maintain accurate patient records and complete basic administrative documentation
- Process payments and handle billing transactions
- Support veterinarians and veterinary staff with general administrative tasks
- Keep the reception area clean,



organized, and welcoming
- Handle client and pet owner concerns with empathy and professionalism

Skills & Qualifications

- Customer service or reception experience is required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask in a quick-paced environment
- Proficiency with basic computer systems and veterinary management software
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle sensitive situations professionally
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of client and patient information
- Compassionate attitude toward animals and their owners
- Animal handling or animal care experience is a solid asset

Pay: $16.50-$17.00 per hour
