Position: Security Officer
Reports to: Security Manager
Purpose
The Security Officer is critical to the success of Bear Hills Casino & Travel Resort. This position is responsible for all aspects related to the safety and security of guests, employees, and property.
Role
The primary role of this position is to maintain security standards and ensure that policies and procedures are consistently followed. The Security Officer is expected to demonstrate leadership and maintain a professional image when interacting with guests, employees, community representatives, vendors, and governing agencies, while upholding organizational standards for guest satisfaction, employee satisfaction, quality assurance, and asset protection.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver excellence in customer service.
- Ensure that the casino property is safe and secure for all guests and staff.
- Enforce AGLC liquor laws and age restrictions.
- Patrol the casino parking lot to ensure the security of doors and premises.
- Monitor and authorize the entrance and departure of employees and patrons.
- Contact the RCMP or fire department in emergency situations, such as fire, unauthorized persons on the premises, or robbery.
- Answer telephone calls, redirect calls, or take messages as required.
- Observe and report any infractions of rules and regulations or any criminal activity.
- Create accurate records of any incidents that occur during the shift.
- Remove bottles and garbage to designated bins.
- Assist other casino departments with chip runs, TRK refills, bussing bottles, taking garbage to outside bins, and other light maintenance duties as required.
- Assist with the set-up and tear-down of in-house banquets, meetings, and other booked events.
- Provide security support for various draws and special events throughout the year.
- Take direction from management as required.
Key Working Relationships
This position requires the ability to communicate clearly, deal tactfully, and work effectively with management, staff, and patrons of Bear Hills Casino & Travel Resort. The incumbent will primarily work with other Security Officers and management.
Working Conditions
The Security Officer's schedule may vary and requires the ability to work late nights, weekends, and holidays. Bear Hills Casino & Travel Resort has a smoking facility; therefore, all employees must be able to work in a smoking environment.

- Be flexible and willing to perform duties as workload requires.
Compliance with all regulatory requirements applicable to this position is mandatory, including but not limited to AGLC requirements and Anti-Money Laundering obligations under the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act, its regulations, and related policies established by Canada and FINTRAC.
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
