Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks to transport freight efficiently and securely
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle logs
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and clients to coordinate schedules and address issues promptly
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts or other machinery required for freight handling when needed
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting to address minor vehicle issues and ensure optimal performance
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving and freight transportation
- Proficiency in operating heavy equipment including forklifts and other loading machinery
- Knowledge of safety procedures, transportation regulations, and best practices for cargo security
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting on trucks and related equipment
- Solid communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
- Physical stamina to handle loading/unloading tasks and long hours on the road
