Early Childhood Educator (ECE)

Anfang Childcare Centre is seeking a dedicated and experienced Early Childhood Educator (ECE) to join our team and provide high-quality care and learning experiences for young children.

The ECE will create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where children can develop socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively. Working collaboratively with other educators, manager and the Director, the ECE will support children’s individual needs, implement developmentally appropriate programs, and maintain a positive childcare environment that meets BC Child Care Licensing Regulations and Island Health requirements.

Please note: Anfang Childcare does not currently provide immigration support, including PNP or LMIA. Applicants must have valid authorization to work in Canada.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide responsive, nurturing, and respectful care to children in a licensed childcare setting.
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that support children’s growth, learning, and development.
- Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes exploration and independence.
- Build positive relationships with children and support their social-emotional development.
- Observe and document children’s development, interests, and learning experiences.
- Maintain accurate daily records, attendance records, and required childcare documentation.
- Support children’s routines, including meals, toileting, rest periods, and transitions throughout the day.
- Follow health, safety, hygiene, and infection prevention procedures according to centre policies and licensing requirements.
- Maintain appropriate child supervision and ensure compliance with child-to-staff ratios.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with families regarding children’s daily experiences, progress, and needs.




- Work collaboratively with fellow educators to support classroom routines, teamwork, and effective communication.
- Identify and report safety concerns, incidents, or behavioural concerns according to centre procedures.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and continue to grow as an early childhood professional.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Valid Early Childhood Educator (ECE) certification recognized in British Columbia.
- Minimum 1 year of experience working in a licensed childcare setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of child development and early learning principles.
- Knowledge of BC Child Care Licensing Regulations and childcare health and safety requirements.
- Valid First Aid Certificate required for childcare settings.
- Valid Criminal Record Check (CRC) required before employment.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English with children, families, and team members.
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to create positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to work in a physically active environment, including lifting up to 30 lbs and assisting children as needed.
- Ability to reliably commute to Langford and legally work in Canada.

Starting Wage: Starting wage: $22–$24/hour, plus wage enhancement for eligible employees. Wage will be reviewed after six months following a performance review.

Pay: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
