Sanding / Woodworking Associate

Pay Rate: $17.60 – $20.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday to Saturday
Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM / 6:30 PM

Job Description

We are currently looking for an experienced and reliable Sanding Associate to join our team in Mississauga. The ideal candidate will have 1–2 years of hands-on sanding experience in a woodworking, cabinet manufacturing, furniture, or similar production environment.

The successful candidate should be comfortable working with Veneers and MDF, have good communication skills, and be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.

Experience in cabinet making/assembly, CNC machine operation, or edge bander operation will be considered a strong asset.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform sanding of wood products, panels, cabinets, and components according to required specifications.
- Work with Veneers, MDF, and other wood-based materials.
- Prepare surfaces for finishing, painting, or further assembly.
- Inspect finished and semi-finished products to ensure quality and consistency.
- Identify surface imperfections, defects, and inconsistencies and correct them as required.
- Operate sanding tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Follow production schedules and meet daily production targets.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.




- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and company guidelines.
- Assist with cabinet assembly and other production duties as required.
- Work collaboratively with production and woodworking team members.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

- 1–2 years of sanding experience is required.
- Previous experience in a woodworking, cabinet, furniture, millwork, or manufacturing setting is preferred.
- Hands-on experience working with Veneers and MDF.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to follow instructions and production specifications.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
- Must be available to work Monday to Saturday.

- General woodworking or millwork experience
- Experience with production machinery and hand tools

This is a full-time position with an opportunity for long-term employment for the right candidate.

Pay: $17.60-$20.00 per hour
