Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Part Time General Maintenance professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in hotel maintenance and be adept at troubleshooting and repairing various systems. This role requires a proactive approach to maintaining the functionality and safety of our hotel, ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently. The General Maintenance position is essential for providing a secure and pleasant environment for both staff and customers.

Responsibilities

- Perform routine Preventative maintenance tasks on facilities and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues as they arise.
- Fabricate and install components as needed, utilizing welding skills when required.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities
- Read and interpret schematics to understand system layouts and troubleshoot effectively.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests from staff.
- Lead small specific projects that may include Drywall repair, painting and other basic carpentry as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean working environment.




- Make regular internal and external rounds of property to ensure that everything is in working order, reporting any issues .
- Maintain work area, all equipment, and logbooks
- Respond to emergency situations including fire alarms, power failures;
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, to communicate effectively with team members and management.
- Technical experience in a recognized trade with a general understanding of building maintenance and operation. Previous experience in a fast-paced hotel environment would be considered an asset
- Working knowledge of mechanical systems and operations - ie. chillers, boilers, refrigeration, plumbing and electrical
- Knowledge of pool maintenance
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to apply logic in troubleshooting scenarios.
- Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with guests and associates.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, managing time effectively to meet deadlines.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
