Duties
- Clear snow from walkways, driveways, parking lots, and other designated areas using shovels, snow blowers, or other hand and power tools
- Operate mechanical equipment such as small excavators or snow plows when necessary to expedite snow removal tasks
- Apply salt or de-icing materials to prevent ice formation and enhance safety
- Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance during snow removal operations
- Assist with general landscape maintenance tasks like gardening or irrigation repairs when snowfall is minimal or outside of snow season
- Follow safety protocols diligently to prevent slips, falls,
or equipment accidents during snow clearing activities
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate efficient snow removal efforts in high-traffic areas
Experience
- Prior experience with construction sites or outdoor maintenance work is highly desirable
- Mechanical knowledge related to operating and maintaining small machinery such as excavators or power tools is a plus
- Familiarity with landscaping practices including gardening, horticulture, or landscape maintenance enhances versatility in this role
- Hands-on experience with hand tools and power tools used for outdoor work demonstrates technical competence
