Position: CNC Machinist
Main function
The CNC machinist is responsible for producing high-quality machined parts by managing the entire machining process, including setup, machining, and first-piece inspection. The machinist optimizes machining parameters, selects appropriate tooling, makes the necessary adjustments, and ensures that parts meet customer tolerances and requirements.
The machinist also provides technical support to the team and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives, cycle time reduction, and the modernization of the shop.
Key responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machines (turning and milling)
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and 3D models
- Prepare setups, select appropriate tooling and cutting parameters, and optimize machining sequences.
- Verify part conformity using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, gauges, etc.
- Optimize machining processes to reduce cycle times and improve productivity.
- Make the necessary adjustments during first piece production.
- Participate in preventive machine maintenance and help maintain a safe working environment.
- Work collaboratively with the team to resolve production issues.
- Perform any other related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Vocational Diploma (DEP) in Machining Techniques or equivalent
- Ability to work independently and make technical decisions.
- Strong mechanical problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail, precision, and thoroughness.
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
- Versatile and team-oriented.

A work environment for machinists who like to stay active
Our shop offers a diverse, hands-on, and dynamic work environment.
We are not looking for an operator whose role is simply to monitor a machine while it runs.
At Précifab, our machinists are expected to stay active, think, troubleshoot, and participate in the entire production process.
This includes performing setups and adjustments, working on different machines different types of parts, carrying out dimensional inspections, solving problems, and collaborating with other members of the team.

Working conditions
- Day shift 6 am-3pm Monday to Thursday and 6 am -12pm on Friday
- Group insurance after 6 months
- 2 weeks of paid shutdown during the holiday season
- 3 weeks of paid shutdown during the summer
