Part-Time Server / Cashier

Lorina’s is looking for a friendly, reliable, and hardworking Part-Time Server / Cashier to join our team!

We are a homestyle restaurant in Torbay, Newfoundland, serving breakfast, soups, sandwiches, wraps, salads, lasagnas, and unique daily menu specials. Our motto is “Everything is made with love,” and we are looking for someone who shares our passion for great food and excellent customer service.

About the Position

The successful candidate will assist with a variety of front-of-house duties, including greeting customers, taking orders, processing payments, preparing and serving food, making coffee/ tea and maintaining a clean and welcoming restaurant.

Previous restaurant or customer service experience is strongly preferred and will be considered an asset. However, we are also happy to train a passionate individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow with our team. Any kitchen or prep -cook experience is an asset as many of our staff are cross trained to assist in both front and back end.

Hours

This position will begin as soon as the right candidate is selected.

Candidates must be available for flexible shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends when required. There may also be opportunities to increase hours during busy seasons and while covering staff holidays.

Store Hours:

- Monday–Wednesday: 8:00 AM–6:00 PM
- Thursday–Friday: 8:00 AM–7:00 PM
- Saturday:



9:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Sunday: Closed

Qualifications & Experience

- Previous restaurant or customer service experience is preferred and will be prioitized.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Friendly and dependable
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Sandwich making, food preparation, or cooking experience is a strong asset but not required.

Responsibilities

- Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Process cash, debit, and other payments
- Brew and serve both drip and espresso based coffee.
- Prepare and serve food for both dine-in and takeout customers
- Keep up with a quick-paced flow of orders
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming restaurant
- Assist with dishes, cleaning, food preparation, and general store upkeep
- Stay productive during slower periods by completing cleaning and preparation tasks
- Help prepare the restaurant for busy periods and daily service
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service at all times
