Overview

Lead a team of student staff and contracted security to provide exemplary customer service in the ASU's student bar. Execute training, uphold standards, and ensure adherence to all policies and checklists. Full knowledge of and adherence to the Liquor Control Act. Identifying potential issues, removing customers, and conflict resolution. Inventory management. Event management and mobile bar services. Overseeing use of house sound system and audio/visual equipment. Cleaning and sanitizing.

This position is not suitable for students due to the hours.

Position runs September-April with a Christmas break, with the chance to work events over the summer.

Tips can often equal salary.

Qualifications

Management experience in food and beverage service.

Customer service experience in a fast paced alcohol service environment.

Security experience (bonus).

Familiarity with Microsoft Suit (Outlook, Excel).

Serve Right Certification (to be completed).

Bar Essentials Security Training (to be completed).

Clean Criminal Record Check.

Food Handler Certificate (bonus).

Experience in restaurant food preparation and service (bonus).

Requirements





Communication and interpersonal skills. Emotional regulation.

Ability to work in loud, bright, hot, cold, indoor, outdoor and challenging conditions.

Able to lift 50 pounds frequently.

Proficiency with basic restaurant technology including Clover POS, smartphone, staffing software, computers, projector.

Audio/visual knowledge (bonus).

Excellence in customer service.

Basic alcohol beverage preparation and service.

Time management.

Ability to delegate and lead a team of student staff.

Manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.

Design and decorating.

This job is primarily late afternoon/evening work and includes weekends. Shifts are currently Wednesday to Friday nights with some weekend work, primarily on Saturdays.
