Overview

We’re looking for a friendly, reliable Bakery Counter Attendant to support our busy bakery Thursday–Sunday. This role includes assisting guests with product selections, preparing and packaging baked goods, maintaining clean and attractive displays, operating the POS, preparing beverages, and completing daily closing duties. You’ll help ensure fresh, well‑stocked products and a welcoming guest experience while following all food‑safety and sanitation standards. Ideal for someone who enjoys customer service, keeps things organized, and can work both independently and as part of a team.

Availability: Thursday & Friday 3:00pm - 7:00 pm, Saturday 9:00am-1:00pm, Sundays 9:00am-5:00pm

Duties and Responsibilities

- Warmly greet guests and provide friendly, efficient service.
- Assist guests with bakery selections and answer questions regarding products, ingredients, and allergens.
- Slice, package, and prepare breads, pastries, and other bakery items for sale.
- Maintain attractive, clean, and well-stocked bakery displays throughout the shift.
- Operate the POS system accurately, including cash, debit, and credit transactions.
- Prepare and serve coffee and other beverages as required.
- Replenish packaging, supplies, and retail products throughout the shift.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery counter, service area, equipment, and guest-facing spaces.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, allergen, and health-code requirements.
- Monitor product quality and freshness and communicate any concerns to the Bakery Manager.
- Assist with appropriate rotation, storage, and handling of bakery products.
- Complete end-of-day closing duties, including:




- Closing and balancing the POS as required.Cleaning and sanitizing counters, equipment, and service areas.Properly wrapping, storing, or packing remaining bakery products.Restocking and preparing the counter for the following day.
- Work collaboratively with the Bakery and Food & Beverage teams to ensure a consistent guest experience.
- Other duties as assigned by Bakery Operations Manager

Qualifications / Experience

- Friendly, professional, and comfortable interacting with guests.
- Robust attention to cleanliness and presentation.
- Reliable and punctual, with the ability to work the scheduled Tuesday–Saturday shifts.
- Comfortable handling cash and using a POS system.
- Able to work independently during quieter periods and manage closing responsibilities.
- Previous customer service, café, bakery, or food service experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of food allergies and safe food-handling practices is an asset.
- Ability to stand for the duration of the shift and safely lift and carry bakery products and supplies as required.
- Food Handler's Certificate
