Toronto Metropolitan University is reshaping the downtown core of Toronto with three new buildings: the Mattamy Athletic Centre at the Gardens, the Toronto Metropolitan University Image Centre in the heart of campus,



and a Student Learning Centre on Yonge Street. In addition, currently in progress is the development of a new multipurpose building, the Church Street development (CSD). This new building will be located just north of Dundas on Church Street and will be home to four academic health services programs, Toronto Met. University food services, administration, and a student residence.

Qualifications

Previous evaluation of performance as an Assistant at the University (if applicable).

Enrolled in: 1st year Masters, 2nd year Masters or PhD
Greater preference will be accorded first to Doctoral candidates, then Master's candidates.

Relevant Experience:

Master's Degree in a creative or communication field.

Prefious experience with marking/grading as asset. Education or experience working in design thinking, digital media, and/or creative entreneurship.

Preference will be to applicants currently enrolled in: 1st year Masters, 2nd year Masters within the Creative School.

Salary & Compensation

September 1, 2025 to August 31, 2026

Master - $51.17 per hour
PhD - $55.26 per hour

36 hours/term attending lectures and tutorials on Mondays from 1pm-4pm (MANDATORY); 64 hours/term - Assisting in grading assignments; 15 hours/term - Responding to student questions; 15 hours/term - meeting with supervising instructor for training and coordination

130 Estimated Total Hours of Work*

*Actual hours may vary at offer time dependent on qualifications and determined rate of pay. Employees can work up to a maximum of 130 hours per semester or 390 hours per academic year. Employees shall not be guaranteed work and when not on assignment they shall not receive any pay or payment in lieu of benefits.
Compensation is offered at a competitive rate and will be commensurate with experience, as per TMU guidelines.
