We're looking for a hands-on Shipping & Receiving Supervisor to lead the shipping, receiving, and inventory operations that support our food production facility. Reporting to the Senior Production Manager, you will lead the daily shipping, receiving, and inventory operations that support our food production facility, maintaining accurate inventory, upholding food safety standards, and support the productive operation of our production facility.
Full-time position, Monday to Friday 8am – 4pm
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and participate in the day-to-day shipping, receiving, and inventory operations that support our food production
- Coordinate daily priorities and support the Shipping & Receiving team, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company, WSBC, SQF and HACCP policies and procedures.
- Train, coach, and mentor team members in protected work practices, standard operating procedures, food safety requirements, and quality standards.
- Coordinate inbound deliveries and outbound shipments, ensure materials and customer orders are received, stored, and shipped accurately and on schedule.
- Monitor production facility organization, stock rotation (FIFO), and storage practices to maximize efficiency and product integrity.
- Oversee warehouse supplies, shipping materials, pallet inventories, and waste/recycling services.
- Ensure shipping documentation, records, and customer shipments are completed accurately.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages, discrepancies, or potential supply issues to the appropriate departments.
- Lead regular inventory counts and support inventory reconciliation activities.
- Maintain required warehouse documentation, food safety records, and traceability logs.
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes, inventory accuracy, safety, and operational efficiency.
THE RIGHT FIT:
- 3–5 years of warehouse, shipping, or logistics experience, preferably within food manufacturing.
- Forklift certification and experience operating pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
- Experience with SQF & HACCP food safety programs is a strong asset.
- Previous experience leading or supervising a team.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize competing demands in a rapid-paced production environment.
- Physically able to stand and perform tasks for up to 5 hours at a time.
- Able to lift 20kg to shoulder height.
- Able to work in varying temperature environments ranging from -18 degrees Celsius to 40 degrees Celsius.
