Full-Time Grain Elevator Operator

VanMeer Farms is seeking a dependable and motivated individual to join our team as a Full-Time Grain Elevator Operator. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who enjoys working in agriculture and takes pride in maintaining equipment and facilities.

Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily grain elevator operations, including receiving, handling, and conditioning grain, as well as maintaining the yard and facility.

Key Responsibilities:

- Operate and oversee all aspects of grain elevator operations
- Receive, sample, and grade incoming grain
- Operate grain handling systems, including cleaning and drying equipment
- Monitor grain quality and storage conditions
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Yard and facility maintenance,



including grass cutting, painting, and general repairs

Seasonal Requirements:

- Willingness to work extended hours during peak seasons, including:
- Harvest: up to 80+ hours per week, long days, late nights
- Spring planting season: assisting with seed delivery
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and overtime as required

Qualifications:

- Solid work ethic and reliability
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Agricultural or grain handling experience is an asset (training available for the right candidate)
- Valid driver’s license required

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 80.0 per week
