Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to oversee our organization’s financial operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting. The Controller will be responsible for managing accounting functions, developing budgets, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. This pivotal role requires a strategic thinker with strong technical expertise in accounting software and financial analysis, committed to supporting the company’s growth and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

- Overall administration and maintenance of general accounting & financial reporting systems for primary company including the same for various related party entities
- Maintenance of accounting software (Microsoft Navision) including monthly and yearly closings, set up of new users, yearly consolidation of related companies
- Cash management including daily cash transactions, bank balance maintenance, related party transfers, monthly reconciliations and line of credit management
- Bank reporting requirements including monthly compliance reporting and yearly compliance and entity consolidation reporting
- Receivables management including bad debt management
- Payables management including payment of vendors and monthly reconciliations of VISA’s and shareholder transactions
- Preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of monthly (yearly) inter-company transactions between related entities
- Maintenance of fixed asset sub-ledger system
- Monthly government remittances including EHT, WSIB, payroll, HST and others as required
- Union reporting obligations including sub-contractors,



unionized employees and project management
- Contracts maintenance for leases and insurance
- Month-end and yearly financial reporting including financial statement analysis
- Dealings with external lawyers, accountants, and CRA regarding year-end reporting and auditing requirements
- Corporate tax management including tax instalments, reconciliations and estimates for all companies as well as calculations of year-end taxable benefits, T4’s and T5’s as applicable
- Other accounting and financial reporting responsibilities as they arise

Skills

- Extensive experience with Navision Dynamics software
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles, account reconciliation techniques, and account analysis.
- Proven ability to manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, budgeting, and financial reporting processes.
- Proficiency in using accounting software for data entry, reporting, and process automation.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members across departments.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and evolving regulatory requirements.

Pay: $115,000.00-$140,000.00 per year
