Senior Computer Application Support Specialist - Contract - 19426

About the Opportunity

Our public sector client requires a Senior Computer Application Support Specialist to support the sustainment, optimization, and expansion of enterprise data applications and analytical capabilities.

The successful candidate will provide both backend and frontend technical support within a secure enterprise workplace. The work will involve maintaining business intelligence applications, data models, automated dashboards, data integrations, and associated technical documentation.

This is primarily a remote prospect within Canada, with periodic travel to client facilities across Canada.

Duties include but are not limited to:
Maintain and optimize interactive corporate Power BI applications, paginated reports, and secure enterprise workspaces
Configure, test, and automate secure data gateways and data refresh schedules within Microsoft 365 and Power Platform cloud environments
Implement and maintain row level security and object level security configurations to protect sensitive data
Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex Data Analysis Expressions, DAX, and Power Query, M, code
Clean, transform, map, and validate transactional data to produce meaningful business and operational metrics
Design and maintain tabular data models, including data lineage and normalized relationships across multiple data sources
Extract, reprocess, and validate historical financial and material resource data from enterprise resource systems, including DRMIS and SAP Business Warehouse
Use Azure DevOps to manage user stories, document bugs, track sprint progress, and identify technical impediments




Conduct business discovery and requirements gathering sessions with senior leadership, stakeholders, technical teams, and end users
Conduct unit testing and support User Acceptance Testing to validate calculations, functionality, and application performance
Develop technical wiki documentation, solution design models, user guides, and other supporting documentation
Deliver technical instruction, training sessions, and reference materials to support ongoing application and product sustainment
About You

The successful candidate will have the following:
A valid and active Microsoft PL 300 or PL 200 certification, together with a minimum of four years of relevant technical experience acquired within the last five years
OR
A Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Software Engineering from a recognized Canadian university, together with a minimum of four years of relevant technical experience acquired within the last five years
A minimum of 12 months of hands on application support or visual data modelling experience acquired within the past two years involving at least two of the following corporate applications:
RCAF Keystone Application
RCAF Comptroller Financial Dashboard
Air & Space Projects Dashboard
Fleet Readiness YFR Dashboard
Strong hands on experience with Power BI, Power Query, DAX, data modelling, data gateways, and enterprise reporting environments




Experience working with Azure DevOps for backlog management, user stories, bug tracking, and technical documentation
Advanced English oral, written, and comprehension skills
The ability to provide two professional references who can validate the experience presented
A valid Secret level II Government of Canada security clearance
About the Job
Duration: September 21, 2026 to August 20, 2027, approximately 48 weeks
Location: National Capital Region
Work Environment: Primarily remote. Unclassified work is expected to be completed remotely within Canada.
Travel: Periodic travel within Canada will be required, including meetings and periodic site visits to client facilities.
Onsite Requirements: Work involving information at the Secret classification level will be performed at designated client facilities
