Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Food Counter Cashier to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, handling food and cash transactions accurately, and maintaining a clean and organized food service area. This role offers an opportunity to work in a quick-paced environment within the food industry, ensuring customers have a positive dining experience. Prior restaurant or food service experience is preferred, along with a strong focus on food safety and sanitation standards.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately using POS systems such as Micros POS
- Prepare and assemble food items according to established recipes and safety standards
- Handle cash register operations, including cash handling, processing payments, and giving correct change
- Upsell menu items to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the counter area, utensils, and equipment in compliance with health regulations
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service
- Assist in food preparation when necessary, adhering to food safety guidelines
- Ensure all food handling procedures meet sanitation standards and health regulations
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive experience
Experience
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environment preferred but not required
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS is a plus
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Knowledge of food safety practices and sanitation standards in the food industry
- Experience with food preparation, serving, or kitchen operations is advantageous
- Strong time management skills to handle high-volume periods efficiently
- Ability to upsell menu items effectively to enhance sales and customer satisfaction
Pay: $18.40-$20.00 per hour
