Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, portioning, and assembling ingredients to streamline kitchen operations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering strictly to food handling and safety regulations.
- Support the kitchen team during busy service periods by efficiently managing multiple orders and prioritizing tasks.
- Ensure all food is stored properly, rotated regularly, and handled safely to prevent contamination or spoilage.
- Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and presentation.
- Follow all health department guidelines and restaurant policies to uphold a secure, hygienic environment.
Requirements
- Prior experience in food service or restaurant kitchens is preferred but not mandatory; eagerness to learn is highly valued.
- Strong knowledge of food handling, safety procedures, and sanitation standards.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy pots or ingredients, and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent attention to detail in meal preparation, plating, and cleanliness.
- Basic understanding of cooking techniques across various cuisines is a plus.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
