Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and setting up necessary dental tools and materials for procedures.
- Assist dentists during various treatments, including orthodontics, pediatrics, and general dentistry, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Manage patient records accurately using dental software such as Dentrix and Epic, documenting procedures and updates efficiently.
- Provide excellent customer service as a dental receptionist by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and answering inquiries professionally.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions to promote ongoing health.
- Support the team with administrative tasks like filing, billing, and insurance processing to keep the practice running smoothly.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards to ensure a sterile environment at all times.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in dental assisting with knowledge of medical terminology and dental procedures.
- Familiarity with dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Epic is highly preferred.
- Experience working with orthodontics or pediatric patients is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and backgrounds.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Certification in dental assisting or relevant training required; additional certifications in CAD or orthodontics are advantageous.
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques, infection control standards, and safety procedures.
