We are presently looking for individuals to join our Barrie team as an ELECTRICAL DRAFTER/DESIGNER.

Sounds awesome, but what would you be doing in this role?

Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and others to produce detailed design documents and with the project before and throughout the construction phase.

Receive direction from the Design Manager and/or the Engineer,
utilize their design and communication skills to assist team in meeting project milestones.

Spend most of your time on your computer completing design work but will also perform site visits independently and/or with team members.

Use various industry software, you will play a critical role in creating plans, drawings, and specifications ensuring all designs adhere to GEL design principles, client requirements, and any relevant codes and standards.

Perform various engineering calculations.

Mandatory Health & Safety training will be required for this role along with Security Clearances, if deemed necessary by project.
What qualifications would you need to be successful in this role?
o Post-secondary education in Engineering Technology.
o 0-3 years of experience in a drafting/designer role.
o Experience working with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit.
o Understanding of relevant industry codes and standards and municipal by-laws.
