Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Transportation Fleet Manager for a direct hire opportunity in Alliston. This role is ideal for a highly organized fleet professional with strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills who can oversee commercial truck fleet operations while driving safety, compliance, efficiency, and cost control.

The Transportation Fleet Manager will play a key role in keeping tractors, trailers, and related equipment operating safely and reliably. This is a hands-on leadership chance within a structured transportation environment where collaboration with dispatch, operations, vendors, and fleet personnel is essential. The successful candidate will be proactive, process-focused, and motivated to identify improvements that reduce operational risk, improve uptime, and support a strong safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee daily operations of a commercial truck fleet, including tractors, trailers, and related transportation equipment.




- Ensure compliance with DOT, MTO, FMCSA, CVOR, ELD, hours-of-service, IFTA, IRP, licensing, permits, registrations, and related documentation requirements.
- Manage preventative maintenance programs, repairs, inspections, certifications, vehicle uptime, utilization, and lifecycle planning.
- Track and control operating costs, including fuel, maintenance, tires, tolls, repairs, vendor services, and equipment-related expenses.
- Analyze fleet management, telematics, and ELD data to improve fuel efficiency, reduce idle time, monitor driver performance, and support continuous improvement.
- Oversee safety programs, driver files, training, incident reviews, accident investigations, insurance claims, corrective actions, and vendor relationships.

Compensation and Advantages

- Direct hire opportunity.
- Salary: $65,000 to $70,000 per year.
- Location: Alliston, ON.
- Schedule: Day shift, Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Work arrangement: 100 percent in office.
