Duties
- Operate various types of forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers, to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse
- Safely handle heavy lifting tasks, ensuring all items are moved securely and accurately
- Conduct regular inspections of forklifts and other equipment to ensure safety and proper functioning
- Assist with order picking by accurately retrieving items from designated locations using warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues and perform basic maintenance when needed
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all operations to prevent accidents or injuries
- Maintain accurate inventory records through precise order picking and stock management
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution environments with familiarity in order picking processes
- Valid forklift certification and experience operating clamp trucks and order pickers
- Strong mechanical knowledge to understand equipment functions and perform basic troubleshooting
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory tracking and order processing
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory counts, measurements, and weight assessments
- Physical strength for heavy lifting tasks and standing or walking for extended periods
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy in order picking and inventory management
