Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and patient-focused Medical Attendant to support patients and visitors at our busy medical office in Brampton. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping others, providing excellent customer service, and contributing to a positive patient experience.
You will assist patients with limited mobility to and from the parking lot wayfinding throughout the facility, to and from the parking lot, with or without a use of mobility equipment (wheelchairs, walker), provide support with elevator access, and help ensure patients are safely and comfortably transferred between designated clinic areas when required. You will serve as a friendly and welcoming presence for all patients and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly and professionally.
- Assist patients with navigating the clinic.
- Answer call signals for patient requesting assistance
- Provide assistance with elevator access and transportation within the facility.
- Support staff with patient transfers and mobility assistance as directed.
- Offer courteous assistance to patients who may require additional guidance or support.
- Attend the main phone line between transfers, and attend the direct line for assistance.
- Take patients' blood pressure, temperature and pulse;
- Stock medical supplies
- Maintain patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times.
- Communicate respectfully and professionally with patients, visitors, and staff.
- Report any patient concerns, safety issues,
or incidents to clinic staff.
Qualifications
- Personal Aide, Personal Support Workers, and Health Care Aides are welcome
- Experience in a hospital and/or medical office setting is preferred
- Friendly, professional, and compassionate demeanor.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to interact respectfully with patients of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to scheduled volunteer shifts.
- Comfortable walking and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to follow directions and work as part of a healthcare team.

Schedule
- 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
- 2 to 3 days per week
- Adaptable scheduling available based on volunteer availability.
