Job Description - Calibration Technician

About Us

Electrogas is an expanding safety equipment company specializing in gas detection and safety supplies across Canada. We are looking for mature individuals with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently in a professional, rapid-paced environment.

We are seeking an experienced, knowledgeable, and motivated Field Calibration Technician to operate out of our Abbotsford branch.

Duties & Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

- Diagnostics, calibration, and repair of gas detection equipment.
- Inspection of gas detection equipment and connected components.
- Developing deficiency reports for estimation.
- Scheduling and communicating with customers and site contacts.
- Reconciling and maintaining field service inventory.
- Data entry.
- Possible after-hours on-call work as part of a rotation schedule.
- Onsite work.
- Various duties as requested by the Supervisor or Management.

Qualifications

- Previous experience and knowledge of electronics and gas detection equipment would be considered an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, particularly when recording calibration results, deficiencies, repairs, and equipment history.
- Comfortable working at heights.
- Ability to lift, carry, and transport tools and equipment required for field service work.
- Applicants must hold a valid Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean abstract, as this role requires driving company vehicles for regular onsite commitments.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Computer literate.
- Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.

- Reliable.
- High level of professionalism and strong communication skills.
- Ability to manage scheduling independently.
- Must be able and willing to travel to customer sites, including overnight travel when required.

Job Type: Full-time

Starting Pay: $22–$25/hour

Experience

- Gas detection equipment: 1 year (preferred)
- Apprenticeship in the skilled trades (preferred)

Licence/Certification

- Clean Class 5 driver’s licence (required)
- Elevated Platform (preferred)
- Confined Space (preferred)
