Westcoast Poultry Services has provided chicken catching services for farms across the Fraser Valley for the past 30 years and is looking to add hard working, physically fit and punctual individuals to our workforce. Full-time and part-time positions available. Experienced catchers pay to be discussed. No-experience starting at $22.00 with a quick raise schedule.
Start Date: A.S.A.P
TRANSPORTATION SERVICE: Shuttle service provides you transportation from your home, to the farm sites, to home again. Skilled crew drivers with company provided government inspected vehicles; passenger van, truck or SUV. If you have a drivers license, extra driving pay is available on top of hours worked, must have a clean driving record and at a minimum hold a valid class 5 license.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- NOC 85100
- Catch and load live chickens into transport cages working responsibly alone and with others as a team on poultry farms
- Follow strict procedures and training covering animal welfare and work place safety
- Respirators, hi-visibility vests or shirts, flashlights, and all other PPE is provided. Steel toe boot cost is reimbursed after 90 days of employment with an annual allowance onward.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Fast paced
- Repetitive physical work
- Farm atmosphere (dusty, smelly, manure, live animals)
- Indoors inside barns out of the weather
- Dim to dark lighting
SHIFT DETAILS:
- Graveyard and Early Morning Shifts
- 5-6 nights per week, Sunday night to Friday night (Custom shift pattern available)
- Start time: 11:00 pm to 4:00 am Finish: between 6:00am to 12:00 pm
- 75-85 hours bi-weekly for full time employees
COMPENSATION:
- Starting at $22.00 / Hour (no experience)

- Individual and team bonuses every pay period ($80.00 - $300.00)

REQUIREMENTS:
- Steel toe boots
- Excellent work ethic/physical endurance
- Work well with team members and also independently
- Positive attitude
- Punctuality
- Clear communication with co-workers and management
- Ability to work graveyard shift
- Ability to be on your feet and mobile and lift, pull, push 40 lbs.
- Dark clothing to be worn at all times
TRAINING:
- Emailed documents and video link to review and read regarding procedures, policies, and safety
- Designated trainer will accompany you throughout the training period and work with providing on site catching and loading procedures and overall workplace safety, 1 on 1 training until both you and your trainer are satisfied with your ability to do the job safely and correctly.
