Job Summary
The Junior Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining sterilization equipment while providing exceptional technical support to customers and service partners. This role requires strong troubleshooting abilities, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills. Success in this position depends not only on technical aptitude, but also on the ability to communicate clearly, build positive relationships, and deliver a high level of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment using manufacturer procedures, documentation, and proprietary test equipment.
- Provide technical support to customers and service partners regarding equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Accurately create and maintain service records, repair orders, customer complaints, and related documentation within the company's ERP and CRM systems.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, specifications, schematics, and service procedures.
- Perform equipment maintenance, testing, and repair activities in accordance with company quality standards.
- Document and report product failures and quality concerns through the W&H; Group Complaint System.
- Maintain knowledge of current and emerging W&H; products, technologies, and service procedures.
- Keep work areas, tools, and equipment clean, organized, and in good working condition.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to resolve customer issues.
- Escalate technical or customer concerns to the Team Lead when appropriate.
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance technical and customer support skills.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in electronics, engineering technology, biomedical equipment technology, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Previous experience in technical support, customer service, help desk, repair, or service technician roles preferred.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships with customers, service partners, and colleagues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Robust customer service orientation with the ability to remain professional and composed in challenging situations.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, and service procedures.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Experience with CRM or case management systems is an asset.
- Experience with electronic, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems is considered an asset.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is strongly preferred to support our French-speaking customers and service partners across Canada.
Work Schedule Requirements
- Flexibility to work a scheduled afternoon shift from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM EST, with the ability to work remotely from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM EST.
- Ability to adapt work schedules periodically to support customer and service partner needs.
Compensation
- This is based on experience, qualifications, and technical aptitude.
- Additional consideration may be given to candidates who are fluent in both English and French to support customers and service partners across Canada.
Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
