YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

- Prepare the required food production on a daily basis.
- Work within the budgeted guidelines for the kitchen. Take responsibility and minimizes labour costs, food costs, wastage/spoilage, expense and other additional items.
- Follow requisition of food items policy.
- Ensure BEO's are posted on daily basis.
- Ensure Recipe cards are developed, followed and used in conjunction with use records.
- Follow-up on production charts to ensure no over producing and waste.
- Follow-up on taste panels.




- Check to see appropriate records are complete.
- Supervise and ensure that compliance of recipes is maintained and that quarterly audits are completed by managers.
- Coach and support members of the team.
- Promote professional work habits and recognize and reward jobs well done.
- Foster positive working relationships within and outside the department.
- Attend and participate in weekly departmental meetings.
- Identify any training needs with staff and arrange appropriate training and follow-up.
- Complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Ensure all staff maintain a secure and injury free workplace by following safe work practices, compliant to all sanitation and health & safety standards.
- Ensure safe operation and maintenance of all kitchen equipment. Ensure safety training on food handling equipment. Complete Accident Reports promptly.
- Maintain high standards of appearance, good personal hygiene and health and safety standards.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience

- Graduate of a Culinary program or an apprenticeship program.
- Must have valid Chef’s papers or equivalent.
- Must have Red Seal certification.
- Must have minimum of 5 years experience working in fine dining cuisine.
- Must have 1-2 years supervisory experience in a similar environment.

Skills and Abilities

- Experience with and working knowledge of large volume kitchen.
- Robust team player with good leadership and communication skills.
- Passionate about cooking.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent Pay: $30.92-$34.36 per hour
