Company Description Steamoji is a maker academy for kids that trains young builders, inventors, and entrepreneurs through a hands-on, project-based curriculum. In its academies, kids ages 6 to 14 design, code, engineer, and build their way from introductory projects to becoming “Master Makers.” The program emphasizes a Maker Mindset, encouraging learners to try, fail, adjust, and complete projects while developing adaptability, creativity, resilience, and problem-solving skills. Role Description The Academy Director – Steamoji North Vancouver is a full-time, on-site role based in Vancouver, BC, responsible for overseeing the operation and growth of the local Steamoji academy. This position includes managing day-to-day academy activities, ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment, and supporting staff in delivering Steamoji’s structured curriculum to kids ages 6 to 14.

Director will lead scheduling, enrollment, and parent communications, including progress updates and feedback sessions. The role also involves training and coaching team members, monitoring program quality,



and implementing strategic initiatives to improve academy performance and community outreach.

Director will collaborate with head office on curriculum adoption, branding, and local marketing efforts to grow enrollment and maintain high satisfaction among families.

Qualifications

- Strong Communication skills, including clear, professional interaction with children, parents, and team members.
- Educational Leadership and Education experience, ideally in youth programs, schools, learning centers, or similar environments.
- Training skills for onboarding, mentoring, and supporting staff in delivering the Steamoji curriculum.
- Strategic Planning abilities to manage academy operations, set goals, and drive enrollment and community engagement.
- Experience working with children ages 6–14 and a passion for STEM, making, or project-based learning.
- Demonstrated organizational and time-management skills, with attention to safety and quality standards.
- Comfort with basic technology tools and willingness to learn platforms used in the Steamoji curriculum.
- Post-secondary education in education, child development, business, or a related field is an asset.
