About the Role
Diamond Realty Developers is seeking an experienced Accountant with strong, hands-on QuickBooks-Online proficiency to independently manage the day-to-day accounting functions of the company.
This is not an entry-level or training position. The successful candidate must already have a strong working knowledge of accounting procedures and be highly proficient in QuickBooks. You should be comfortable navigating the company's accounting records, identifying and correcting discrepancies, and completing routine accounting tasks without requiring step-by-step instruction.

- Independently manage day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping activities within QuickBooks
- Enter, categorize, and review transactions accurately across company accounts
- Process and track invoices, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payments, and expenses
- Perform bank, credit card, and account reconciliations and independently investigate discrepancies
- Prepare, review, and post accurate journal entries
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accounts are properly classified and up to date
- Complete month-end accounting procedures and ensure records are ready for reporting
- Prepare and maintain financial statements,
including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports
- Review existing accounting records for inaccuracies, duplicate entries, missing transactions, or incorrect classifications and make necessary corrections
- Maintain organized supporting documentation for financial transactions
- Assist management with financial reporting, budgeting, cash-flow monitoring, and forecasting
- Track project-related and company expenses accurately
- Support HST/GST and other CRA-related accounting requirements
- Coordinate with management, external accountants, and other professionals when required
- Ensure accounting practices comply with company policies, established accounting principles, and applicable CRA requirements
Qualifications
- Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks is required. Candidates must have substantial hands-on experience using QuickBooks in a professional accounting environment.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience, including responsibility for maintaining company financial records
- Demonstrated ability to work independently without requiring foundational training
- Strong understanding of double-entry accounting, general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, and journal entries
- Demonstrated experience preparing and reviewing financial statements
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, expense classification, and bank/credit card reconciliations
- Working knowledge of Canadian accounting practices and CRA requirements
- Ability to identify accounting errors and discrepancies and determine the appropriate correction independently
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple companies, accounts, projects, and priorities
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field required
- CPA designation or progress toward a CPA designation is an asset
- Previous accounting experience in real estate development, construction, property management, or a related industry is strongly preferred
- Fluency in English is required
Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is someone who can step into the position and become productive quickly. You are confident navigating QuickBooks, understand the accounting treatment behind the entries you make, and do not rely on others to identify routine accounting procedures or explain how to complete standard accounting tasks.
You are comfortable reviewing existing books, identifying issues, asking appropriate questions when information is genuinely missing, and using your accounting knowledge to determine how transactions should be recorded.
Please apply only if you have professional, hands-on QuickBooks experience and are comfortable independently managing day-to-day accounting responsibilities.
