We are looking for an experienced Accounting & Administration Clerk who enjoys a broad range of accounting and administrative responsibilities and takes pride in being a trusted resource within the organization.
This is a stable role suited to someone who values consistency, takes ownership of their responsibilities, and enjoys contributing through their experience and knowledge. The successful candidate will be reliable, detail-oriented, and adaptable, with the ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
You will be responsible for providing day-to-day accounting and administration support to the Company and its internal teams, with a strong focus on accuracy, organization, confidentiality, and follow-through.
This role works under the direction of the Manager, Corporate Accounting and reports to the Director of Finance.
Key responsibilities will include, but not limited to, the following:
- Enter and process invoices and provide support with accounts payable and accounts receivable,
including related payments, receipts, and documentation.
- Review credit card transactions by matching receipts to credit card statements and identifying missing or inconsistent documentation before submitting them for approval and payment.
- Code and file financial transactions according to established categories, departments, and Company procedures.
- Maintain organized and accurate electronic financial records and supporting documentation, ensuring files are complete, properly categorized, and readily accessible to the team.
- Provide general accounting and administrative support to the Accounting & Finance team as required.
- Administer employee licence renewals through the BCSC, including monitoring upcoming renewal dates, proactively reminding employees of their renewal responsibilities, and completing required online renewal steps and submissions on behalf of the Company. Employees remain responsible for maintaining their licence in good standing.
- Assist with special projects and other accounting and administrative tasks as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum 2+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, and or related administrative experience, preferably in a corporate environment.
- High school education with bookkeeping or accounting coursework, post-secondary education in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience providing accounting and administrative support to a team.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly with data entry, invoice processing, financial records, and documentation.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize responsibilities, manage multiple tasks, and meet established deadlines.
- Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities may change.
- Demonstrates reliability, consistency, accountability, and commitment to completing responsibilities accurately and on time.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of the Accounting & Finance team.
- Proactive and resourceful, with the ability to resolve routine issues within established processes and seek guidance when appropriate.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with intermediate-level Excel skills, and experience using computerized accounting systems such as QuickBooks.
- Experience maintaining organized electronic records and supporting documentation.
- Professionalism, accountability and a robust work ethic.
- Demonstrated tact and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.
