: As a member of an interdisciplinary drug treatment court team, the incumbent will be responsible for creating a therapeutic environment in a specialized treatment service for a high risk client group who are in conflict with the law. Duties include individual and group counseling, case planning and program development. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement"

- Bachelor of Chemical Dependency
- A degree acceptable by the employer with relevant experience

- Bachelor of Social Work is acceptable

- Know of community resources to support clients/families dealing w/addiction
- Knowledge in applicable best practice models/current research/relapse prevention
- Knowledge in individual, family, group, and crisis counselling methods
- Knowledge in group dynamics
- Knowledge of criminal justice system & correlation between offending behaviours.
- Ability to promote healthy lifestyles with diverse populations
- Apply crisis/problem solving with clients w/ addiction/mental health issues
- Ability to accurately assess addictions and/or addiction related issues.
