The Advanced Development Engineer is responsible for leading the end-to-end development of innovative product concepts from ideation through to handoff for commercialization. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong technical expertise, capable of navigating ambiguity, driving innovation, and aligning engineering solutions with business and customer needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Lead Innovation: Identify and define current product opportunities and enhancements based on market/technological trends, customer, and legislative needs.

- Develop and Validate Concepts: Create, analyze, and test innovative concepts using engineering tools and prototypes.

- Lead internal teams and external partners to align development with business goals.

- Lead Incubator Session Process: Assemble and guide cross-functional discussions to generate new ideas and solutions, and follow up to implementation

- Manage Projects: Oversee advanced development projects from concept to handoff, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.

- Engage Customers: Interface with customers to generate excitement, gather feedback and refine concepts to meet their needs.





- Support IP and Technology Strategy: Contribute to patent filings and stay current with emerging technologies.

- Transfer Knowledge: Deliver complete technical and marketing handoff packages to Product Engineering and Sales.

REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.

- 5+ years in an automotive manufacturing environment, preferably in product development.

- Strong analytical creativity skills

- Familiarity with IP documentation processes

- Verbal and written communication

- Proficiency in CAD

- Simulation tools

- Organizational and Problem-Solving

- Experience with Embedded systems

- Automotive standards and processes

- Microsoft 365, ERP Systems, MES Systems

- Physical Abilities - Ability to perform job duties in a manufacturing/office

- Ability to sit, stand, or move for extended periods as required

- Ability to use standard business or production equipment

- Ability to travel internationally
