We are looking for a skilled and customer-focused Appraiser to join our team and play a key role in managing the repair process from initial vehicle inspection through completion.
Position Overview The Appraiser is responsible for preparing accurate repair estimates, coordinating with customers, insurance partners, technicians, and vendors, and ensuring repairs are properly planned and documented. The successful candidate will balance customer service, estimating accuracy, repair planning, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and prepare accurate, insurance-compliant repair estimates.
- Photograph and document vehicle damage, including prior and unrelated damage.
- Act as a primary point of contact for customers, insurers, vendors, and internal teams.
- Provide timely updates regarding repair status, supplements, parts delays, approvals, and completion dates.
- Monitor repairs and prepare supplements when additional damage is identified.
- Communicate and negotiate estimate revisions and supplements with insurance representatives.
- Research and applyOEM repair procedures and manufacturer requirementsto repair plans.
- Maintain accurate customer files, photographs, estimates, supplements, approvals, and communication records in Bodyshop Connect and required systems.
- Participate in production meetings and coordinate with technicians, parts suppliers, insurers, and internal departments.
- Monitor parts availability and communicate delays that may affect repair timelines.
- Support KPI objectives including estimate accuracy, cycle time, touch time, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure customer payments, deductibles, approvals, and required financial documentation are accurately recorded.
- Follow company policies, insurer requirements, OEM standards, safety procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements, including AMVIC guidelines.
- Maintain a professional, organized, and safe work environment.
- Participate in ongoing training and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
