Position: Senior Application Security Developer (Python)

Duration: 6-months assignment (contract)

Client Location: Montreal, QC Remote Across Canada (Working in EST Timezone, travel required every quarter to MTL)

About the Engagement

Akkodis is seeking the services of an experienced Senior Application Security Developer (Python) consultant to support a strategic enterprise Application Security transformation initiative. This engagement is ideal for a highly technical software developer with strong Python expertise and a security-focused mindset. The consultant will contribute to the design, development, integration, and automation of application security solutions across the software development lifecycle, helping to build scalable and secure development practices within a complex enterprise environment.

Services to be Provided

- Design, develop, and maintain Python-based security solutions, automation frameworks, and integrations.
- Build automation scripts and internal tooling to support secure software delivery.
- Develop APIs, connectors, and custom integrations between application security platforms and enterprise systems.
- Customize and extend existing security tools based on business and technical requirements.
- Develop technical solutions where out-of-the-box security capabilities do not fully address organizational needs.
- Support implementation, configuration, integration, and optimization of application security platforms.
- Integrate security controls and automation into CI/CD pipelines and software delivery workflows.
- Build proof-of-concepts and validate security tooling against technical and business requirements.
- Collaborate with development teams to promote secure-by-design principles and secure coding practices.




- Analyze vulnerabilities and provide remediation recommendations.
- Participate in secure code reviews, threat modeling, vulnerability triage, and remediation activities.
- Work closely with architects, DevSecOps engineers, and software developers to deliver practical and scalable security solutions.
- Support knowledge sharing and capability development within the application security team.

Expertise Required

- 5+ years of enterprise software development experience.
- Strong hands-on development expertise in Python.
- Proven experience building APIs, backend services, automation solutions, and system integrations.
- Solid understanding of application security concepts and secure software development practices.
- Experience integrating tools and automation into CI/CD environments such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to design and build custom technical solutions.
- Ability to work effectively within a complex enterprise environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.

Security Clearance

Must be legally authorized to work in Canada and capable of meeting client security and background screening requirements.

This is a business-to-business engagement. Candidates must represent an incorporated entity, hold a valid business number,



maintain appropriate insurance, and invoice for services rendered.

Nice to Have

- Hands-on experience with application security platforms such as Snyk, Aqua Security, JFrog Xray, or similar solutions.
- Experience with Software Composition Analysis (SCA).
- Experience with container security and cloud-native application environments.
- Knowledge of Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) management.
- Familiarity with secrets detection, dependency scanning, and vulnerability management practices.
- Knowledge of modern DevSecOps methodologies.
- Experience working within large, regulated enterprise environments.
