Position Purpose and Summary The Assistant, Compensation & Benefits supports compensation, benefits, and job documentation processes through document coordination, data entry, tracking, and file organization. This role assists the Compensation & Benefits Specialist with maintaining accurate records, organizing materials, and supporting ongoing compensation and benefits initiatives.
The position provides an opportunity for a student to gain practical exposure to human resources, compensation, benefits, job architecture, and project coordination in a professional office environment.
Key Areas of Accountability
- Support compensation, benefits, and job documentation processes through data entry, document coordination, and record maintenance.
- Assist with administration, including formatting, tracking, updating, and maintaining version control.
- Maintain spreadsheets and trackers accurately, including reviewing information for completeness and consistency.
- Assist with basic review and analysis of compensation, benefits, and job documentation information as required.
- Support ongoing compensation, benefits, and job architecture initiatives by organizing materials and tracking assigned tasks.
- Assist with meeting and project coordination, including scheduling, note-taking, preparing basic materials,
and tracking follow-up items.
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Standards and Requirements
Experience
- Previous administrative, data entry, records management, or project support experience is an asset.
- Experience handling confidential or sensitive information is an asset.
- Human resources, payroll, finance, or business-related experience is an asset.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Valuable organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and use sound judgment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Basic spreadsheet skills, including data entry, sorting, filtering, and reviewing information for accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Interest in human resources, compensation, benefits, or business administration is an asset.
