New York The Financial Resource Management group (FRM) is a first line-of-defense risk function that works closely with sales and trading desks, compliance, risk management, finance, and other corporate functions across the Bank to achieve optimal outcomes for the capital markets business lines, while complying with all relevant regulations, both domestic and international.
Your role
- Analyzing, researching, and interpreting new regulations affecting the Bank and/or the Bank’s U.S. broker-dealer, including but not limited to CFTC and SEC regulations under Title VII of the Dodd-Frank Act, in addition to other applicable regulations related to both over the counter and listed derivatives.
- Assisting with front-line supervision of relevant swap dealer and security-based swap dealer policies and procedures.
- Scoping of regulatory projects (interpretation of rules, guidance and/or legislation) and explaining the impacts on the relevant businesses.
- Leading and contributing to projects implementing regulatory change at the Bank, including through documentation of regulatory requirements.
- Providing expertise on trade structuring to sales and trading.
- Reviewing, analyzing and contributing to the approval of new business cases.
- Maintaining detailed, expert knowledge of the rules and practices governing derivatives exchanges, futures exchanges, options exchanges, swap execution facilities, clearinghouses and other financial market infrastructures.
Your team
You will be part of the Financial Resource Management (FRM) team, a first line-of-defense function that works closely with sales, trading, risk management, legal, finance, treasury, capital management and other corporate functions of the Bank. The role reports to the Managing Director, FRM (based in New York). The FRM team partners with business lines across Capital Markets to optimize the deployment of financial resources, support strategic decision-making and international growth, and ensure compliance with domestic and international regulatory requirements.
As part of the broader New York trading floor,
you will work in a rapid-paced environment requiring you to analyze complex information, challenge assumptions, and deliver timely insights in a dynamic market environment. The successful candidate will adapt to evolving business and regulatory demands with creativity, intellectual curiosity, and a proactive approach to problem solving.
Prerequisite
- Bachelor’s, master’s, and/or juris doctor degree in securities law, finance, mathematics, engineering, or related disciplines.
- Keen and demonstrated interest in capital markets and finance.
- Recent experience in one of the following:
- regulatory compliance for capital markets;
- advisory or legal services for US regulatory compliance with OTC derivatives and/or futures
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex issues from multiple perspectives and develop effective solutions.
- Ability to work independently and proactively, while collaborating within a team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to adapt communications for diverse audiences, including frontline employees, cross-functional stakeholders, and senior leadership.
- Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset but not a requirement.
Languages:
In compliance with all states and cities that require transparency of pay, the base salary range for this position is $200,000 – $275,000 USD/year (Associate Director) or $225,000 - $300,000 USD/year (Director), commensurate with experience. This position is also eligible for variable compensation.
