Take the Next Step in Your Financial Planning Career

Innova Wealth Partners is looking for an Associate Financial Planner to work alongside our Financial Advisors in delivering comprehensive advice and an exceptional client experience.

This position is designed for someone who already has financial planning experience, industry education or professional credentials and wants to substantially deepen their capabilities.

You will work closely with one or more advisors across the entire client relationship, helping prepare for meetings, update financial plans, identify planning issues, coordinate implementation and ensure recommendations and commitments are followed through to completion.

Depending on your experience, you may also attend client meetings and progressively take on greater responsibility for financial planning and client relationships.

For someone who ultimately wants to become a Financial Advisor or Financial Planner, this can be an exceptional three-to-five-year development opportunity.

What You'll Do

Your responsibilities may include

- Preparing for client review and financial planning meetings
- Reviewing client files in advance and identifying outstanding planning issues
- Updating financial plans and financial projections
- Maintaining accurate client financial information
- Gathering and organizing information related to investments, pensions, insurance, corporations, taxation and estate planning
- Preparing financial planning scenarios for advisor review
- Assisting with retirement income projections
- Assisting with registered account, corporate and estate planning analysis
- Preparing meeting documents, reports and presentations
- Attending selected client meetings
- Documenting decisions, recommendations and follow-up items
- Coordinating implementation following client meetings
- Proactively following up on outstanding client items
- Drafting client correspondence and planning follow-ups
- Helping manage advisor inboxes, schedules and workflow when required
- Coordinating with our investment and insurance teams
- Working with accountants, lawyers and other outside professionals where appropriate
- Monitoring recurring client planning needs and deadlines
- Identifying opportunities to improve planning processes and the client experience

The exact responsibilities will depend on your experience and credentials.

What Success Looks Like

You will become someone the advisory team can rely on to:

- Understand the client's overall financial picture
- Anticipate what needs to happen next
- Identify missing information
- Prepare thoughtful analysis
- Follow through on commitments
- Keep complex client situations organized

- Proactive
- Independent
- Technologically capable
- Curious and eager to learn
- Strong communicators
- Comfortable exercising professional judgement
- Able to manage multiple client files and competing priorities
- Motivated by continuous improvement
- Interested in comprehensive financial planning rather than simply investment administration

Education, Experience & Credentials A university degree or college diploma is preferred.

Experience in financial planning, wealth management, banking, accounting, investments or insurance would be beneficial.

Candidates with any of the following are particularly encouraged to apply:

- QAFP designation
- CFP designation
