At Two Worlds Consulting, we help clients navigate complex social, environmental, and regulatory challenges by bringing together Indigenous Knowledge and Western science. Working collaboratively with First Nations, Métis, Inuit, industry, and the public sector, we support informed decision-making through practical, culturally grounded, and technically sound solutions.

We are seeking an Associate Principal, Portfolio Project Management to provide project management leadership across our portfolio of small to medium-sized projects. The role balances direct management of individual projects with oversight of portfolio performance, resourcing, risk, and delivery outcomes.

The successful candidate will lead multidisciplinary teams in the delivery of human environment, archaeology, environmental, and related consulting services for a wide range of clients. Working closely with other Project Managers, Project Coordinators, Principals, and Associate Principals, they will monitor portfolio performance, identify and address emerging risks and resourcing needs, and help ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to a high standard of quality.

This position is well-suited to individuals who are confident Project Managers, thrive in collaborative and relationship-focused environments, and can balance hands-on project delivery with responsibility for the health and performance of a portfolio of work.

Compensation

$120,000 - $140,000 per year. Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated expertise, with flexibility for exceptional candidates.

Location

Remote within Canada (home-based, with occasional travel). Hybrid or office-based options available for candidates located in Victoria or Vancouver, BC.

What You'll Do

Portfolio Management

- Provide leadership and oversight for our portfolio of small to medium sized consulting projects, supporting successful delivery, effective resource utilization, financial performance, and a consistently high standard of client service.
- Monitor portfolio performance and business-level portfolio health, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, capacity, utilization, backlog, revenue, margin, delivery risk, client relationship health, and alignment between current work, upcoming opportunities, and available resources.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Principals, and Directors to support prioritization, resource planning, workload management, and consistent delivery practices across the portfolio.
- Develop and promote efficient project management practices, processes, reporting,



and delivery standards across portfolio projects.
- Support and mentor Project Managers, Principals, and other team members by sharing project management expertise and contributing to professional growth and development.
- Foster a positive, collaborative team environment that supports engagement, accountability, learning, and recognition.

Project Management

- Build and maintain positive client relationships focused on delivering high-quality services and fostering long-term partnerships across TWC service areas.
- Develop proposals and support business development activities, including scope development, budgeting, resourcing, project planning, execution, and communication of project status and outcomes.
- Manage project scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
- Work with the Principals in Charge to lead project teams and provide direction and oversight of project activities to support successful project outcomes.
- Maintain a strong understanding of TWC's service areas, project delivery approaches, relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Ensure projects are delivered in alignment with client requirements, contractual obligations, corporate values, health and safety policies, and applicable regulatory standards.
- Support timely invoicing, financial tracking, and client payment processes across assigned projects

What We're Looking For We welcome applications from candidates who may not meet every qualification but bring relevant consulting experience, lived or professional insight, and a strong alignment with our work.

Required Qualifications

- 10+ years of progressively responsible project management experience in a consulting, professional services, or related environment, including responsibility for multiple concurrent projects or a portfolio of work with accountability for scope, budgets, schedules, resources, client relationships, and delivery outcomes.
- Project management training, certification, or designation (e.g., PMP).
- Experience delivering consulting services for Indigenous Nations, government, industry, or other clients in areas such as engagement, human environment, planning, stewardship, advisory services, environmental management,



or related fields.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and working collaboratively with technical specialists, Project Managers, clients, and other stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes.
- Strong leadership, relationship-building, and communication skills, including experience mentoring team members, resolving challenges, and delivering exceptional client service.
- Strong project and business management skills, including proposal development, budgeting, forecasting, resource planning, financial management, and risk mitigation.
- Strong understanding of reconciliation and the diverse rights, priorities, perspectives, and governance structures of Indigenous Peoples in Canada.
- Degree or diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and project management tools.
- Alignment with TWC's values and principles, with the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced, and dynamic consulting environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience managing significant annual revenue portfolios and supporting resource planning and delivery oversight.
- Experience working with geographically distributed or remote teams.
- Indigenous lived experience that contributes to team-based, multi-lens project delivery and helps inform how Indigenous perspectives are collectively understood, represented, and integrated into consulting work.
