The Opportunity
As an Associate / Senior Associate, Corporate Development, you will join a growing, dynamic team that supports acquisitions and strategic analysis for JPG's operating divisions. Reporting to and working closely with senior members of the Corporate Development team, you will gain exposure to divisional Presidents, senior executives and external partners, and build hands-on experience across stages of the transaction lifecycle.
In addition, this role will support other strategic initiatives such as fund investments and artificial intelligence (AI).
This is an opportunity to build a strong foundation through broad industry exposure, hands-on learning and close mentorship from experienced M&A; professionals. The role is designed for a motivated early-career professional who wants to grow into corporate development and investing over time.
Your First 12 Months In your first 12 months, you will focus on learning the fundamentals and becoming a valued contributor to the team by:
- Supporting financial analysis, valuation and due diligence workstreams across multiple acquisitions, under the guidance of senior team members
- Beginning to build working relationships with divisional leaders, senior executives and external advisors
- Helping prepare clear, decision-useful materials for senior management and investment discussions
- Contributing to M&A; strategies and strategic projects across a wide range of operating divisions
- Contributing to the growing fund investment portfolio and assisting with AI initiatives across the group
Key Responsibilities
- Support the sourcing, evaluation and execution of strategic acquisition opportunities across industries and geographies
- Support operating divisions with market mapping and target identification aligned with each division's priorities
- Build financial models, including valuation, payback, ROIC and scenario analyses, to support investment decisions made by senior team members
- Assist in preparing concise investment summaries and presentations for review by senior executives
- Support rigorous financial, operational and commercial due diligence processes
- Assist senior team members in working with business owners, management teams, M&A; advisors and other external partners
- Conduct market research, industry analysis and benchmarking to identify new opportunities and support strategic decisions
- Support select fund investments, direct investments and other strategic initiatives across the portfolio
What We’re Looking For
- 3-5 years of qualified experience, ideally with exposure to corporate development, transaction services, private company M&A; or private equity
- CPA, CBV or CFA designation is an asset
- Robust financial modeling, valuation and financial statement analysis skills
- Demonstrated ability to support multiple workstreams with urgency, attention to detail and sound judgment
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills - concise, candid and clear
- A proactive, collaborative and entrepreneurial mindset, with intellectual curiosity and a passion for building enduring businesses
Compensation Details
- The expected base salary range for this role is $90,000 - $115,000 per annum. The base salary offered may vary depending on the applicant's job-related knowledge, skillset and experience
- As part of our total compensation package, this position is eligible for a bonus and a comprehensive health and wellness benefits plan
